WHO AM I

WHO AM I?

My name is Milan, born and raised in the lovely city of The Hague. Since I was five years old, I found a way to express myself through theater and acting. Around the age of nine, I developed a love for photography. This translated into amazing collaborations and visualising the art of theater through my lens.

I still have the honour to be the photographer for the Rabarber Theaterschool

for more than 10 years now.

Over the years, I have developed my own style; combining perfect timing in movement in my performance art images and a serene feeling in my stills.

I combined my studies with working at Max Koot Studio, here I learned how to read light and make contact with your model. I studied at the Dutch Stichting De Nederlandse Fotovakschool and graduated in the top of my class with a Drag Queen portrait series. Afterwards I had the honour to meet and assist great photographers like

Erwin Olaf, Joris-Jan Bos, Leo van Velzen, Gadi Dagon and Uri Nevo.

TEAMWORK

MAKES THE

DREAM WORK

Experience and teamwork is everything, as a performance art photographer I always try to tap into the energy of the actor in front of me whether it’s on stage or in the studio.

With behind the scenes photography it’s a different kind of interaction because I love working in a creative environment with likeminded people.

It’s important for me to create images and point of views that could add or show another side of the production.

Although you would hardly notice I’m on the set, (except for a weirdly accurate pun here and there) I will always try to help out where I can, for instance with the Director, Gaffer or Production Assistant in order to co-create something awesome.

My goal besides shooting BTS is to become

Director of Photography. Proud to say I'm on my way!

If this sounds interesting to you or for your production, don't hesitate and Contact me.
